When some people hear the word “strategy,” they think of a PowerPoint presentation with +100 slides. Others claim that a strategy must fit on a single page. Both are wrong.
Both the presentation and the one-pager are simply different formats for different target groups and purposes. The strategy is what the stakeholders have agreed on and what they will actually execute.
This has three key implications:
1️⃣ All stakeholders have the same understanding of the strategy.
2️⃣ All stakeholders accept the strategy and its implementation.
3️⃣ All stakeholders are involved in the strategy: both in its design and implementation.
Another misconception: the strategy project takes months. Or: one day of workshop is sufficient. The reality: the strategy process never stops.
