We’re back from the summer holidays. The first month since then has full of events and work:
- Georg Arens has stepped down as managing director of the operational business, but remains a shareholder of Datentreiber and a Datentreiber expert. The Datentreiber team thanks you for driving Datentreiber forward for many years! 🙏👏
- Bending Spoons is acquiring Miro. As a Miro Solution Partner we are using Miro intensively for our workshops and training sessions, and we have developed many tools and templates that we have made freely available on Miroverse. We will keep you updated on what the acquisition means.
- The Catalyst goes MCP! The team has decided to continue developing the Catalyst as a standalone MCP server and to release it as open‑source software. We also invite everyone to join the Catalyst Co‑Creation Community (coming soon) and contribute to its development. We need you as test users and feedback providers.
Read more about the Miro acquisition and its impact on the Catalyst in a community post by Datentreiber Martin Szugat: Miro, Bending Spoons and our Catalyst
In recent months we have experimented extensively with AI tools for strategy development and solution implementation, primarily using AI Actions, AI Flows and AI Sidekicks in Miro (see TOOLS & TEMPLATES below, where we showcase some solutions).
Your feedback has shown that you want a tool‑agnostic solution that links various tools and teams across the organization. Consequently, we have decided to set up the Catalyst as an MCP server with the following functionality:
⚡ The Catalyst manages strategy and solution artefacts such as a business‑model analysis, a use‑case catalogue and much more as MCP resources and stores the artefacts as markdown files in an LLM wiki.
⚡ The Catalyst supports common activities such as use‑case ideation or ROI estimation as MCP actions and integrates with Claude, Miro, PowerPoint, or wherever else you design your strategy and solutions..
⚡ The Catalyst handles complex team workshops and AI workflows as MCP prompts so that you can focus on what matters most: building better businesses!
At the Machine Learning Week Europe conference November in Munich (see EVENTS & OFFERS below) we will present an early version of the Catalyst system at our exhibition booth. The Catalyst dev team, Romina, Kian, Fabian and Benjamin, will introduce it to you. In the spirit of “Build in Public” we will report continuously and intensively over the coming weeks on the Catalyst’s progress on social media and the Data & AI Business Design Community. We look forward to your questions and feedback!
TOOLS & TEMPLATES

If you’d like a glimpse of the Catalyst, have a look at our canvas workshop templates and AI workflow tools on Miroverse:
💫 Catalyst for Data & AI Use Case Ideation: Benjamin released a specialized version of the Catalyst for AI use‑case ideation and ROI estimation as a Miro Sidekick, and wrote about it in our community blog. Even Miro has reported on it in their corporate blog.
🎯 Lean Data & AI Strategy Workshop: our popular workshop template got a major upgrade. For example, AI Flows analyze and summarize your workshop briefing documents and turn the workshop output into actionable outcomes, e.g. markdown summaries, todo lists, use case catalog, clickable prototypes and more.
🤖 Multi-Agent System (MAS) Design Workshop: For every canvas, there are now five AI Actions at the click of a button: Consult [on the use of the canvas]; Create [sticky notes for the canvas]; Check [for completeness, correctness, and consistency]; Challenge [to identify the riskiest assumptions]; Choose [the best option to move forward].
