Two-Day Agenda of Data & AI Design Thinking Certification

What can you expect from our two-day schedule? Our certifications primarily involve a blend of method presentations, exploration of use cases, and practical exercises to help you master the Data & AI Business Design method independently.

Below, you can explore the detailed agenda for the Data & AI Design Thinking Certification.

  1. Lectures and Exercises: Each lecture or exercise lasts 45 minutes.
  2. Post-Training Assignment: After the two-day training, every participant will receive an assignment. This assignment aims to deepen their knowledge of the Data & AI Business Design Method. We will discuss this assignment in an additional 45-minute online session later on.

Day 1 (5 hours)

Module I – Introduction to Data & AI Business Design

  • Lecture: Familiarize yourself with the Data & AI Business Design Method and tools for data strategy design.
  • Exercise: Learn how to approach and plan a data strategy workshop.
  • Lecture: Deep-dive into Business Model/ Use Case Canvas.
  • Exercise: Analyze business models and identify use cases.

Module II – Business Understanding

  • Lecture: In-depth exploration of the Analytics Maturity Canvas.
  • Exercise: Learn how to prioritize and choose relevant use cases.
  • Lecture: Understand how to use the Analytics Use Case Canvas.
  • Exercise: Evaluate the challenges and benefits of your use case.

Day 2 (5 hours)

Module III – User Understanding

  • Lecture: We continue with the Analytics Use Case Canvas.
  • Exercise: Outline an analytical solution.
  • Lecture: Explore the Data Strategy Canvas.
  • Exercise: Specify data and analytics solutions.

Module IV – Data Understanding

  • Lecture: Gain an understanding of the Data Landscape Canvas.
  • Exercise: Identify data assets and gaps.
  • Lecture: From analytics application to business case.
  • Exercise: Create a roadmap for your data and analytics strategy.

Martin Szugat

Martin Szugat is passionate about driving informed decisions through data. He specializes in AI and data strategy, leveraging insights to create data-driven use cases, business models, and data products. His approach is informed by his own developed method called Data & AI Business Design, which draws inspiration from design thinking practices.

During his bioinformatic studies, Martin focused on research related to machine learning and data mining. Additionally, he has worked as a freelance author and IT consultant.

Since 2014, Martin has served as the program director at Machine Learning Week Europe (formerly known as Predictive Analytics World and Deep Learning World).

He also shares his knowledge as a lecturer at HWZ University and Steinbeis University, and as an instructor for LinkedIn Learning.

Furthermore, he co-owns Datentreiber, a consultancy that offers data strategy workshops, consulting services, and certifications, together with Georg Arens.
